"Ladies start your engines!" In racing we may not get to hear that every weekend, but it was heard in Montreal as Champ Car Women's Day took to the track during the Molson Indy Montreal.

As a part of Ford's Women's Initiative, Ford of Canada worked collaboratively with the Bridgestone Presents Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford to present Champ Car Women's Day on Friday before the Molson Indy Montreal. Women from all walks of life had the opportunity to take part in demonstrations and instructional classes on car-related issues at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve.

The 50 women taking part in this program held diverse backgrounds, from corporate executives to the university students looking to begin their careers. It gave them all an opportunity to interact and network while learning about the automotive industry.

"What we are doing here is really unique," said Anne Stevens, Ford Group VP of Canada, Mexico and South America. "We are reaching out to young women and linking them to the excitement of the auto industry and car racing. One of the goals of this program is to show them that there are women in every aspect of the motor industry and they can do it too."
