Women in Automotive Adds Three Speakers to August Conference in Orlando
Three new speakers have been added to the inaugural Women in Automotive Conference, set for Tuesday-Thursday, August 18-20, 2015, at the Ballroom at Church Street in downtown Orlando, Florida.
The three-day conference includes speakers, breakout sessions, workshops and booth displays – all centered on the goal of educating and inspiring women in all areas of the automotive industry.
Already announced as speakers were Tammy Darvish (Executive VP at PenFed Credit Union and former DARCARS executive); Lisa Copeland (Managing Partner of Fiat of Austin, North America’s #1 Fiat retailer); and Shea Holbrook (Professional racecar driver and entrepreneur). The new additions include:
Celeste D. Briggs, Director of Women’s Retail Network, General Motors. A founding member of the GM Women’s Retail Network (WRN), Briggs brings women to the GM retail organization and makes the dealership environment attractive to female customers and employees. She became director of the WRN, the first and only network of its kind, in January 2011.
Hwei-Lin Oetken, Vice President of Strategic Insights, Kelley Blue Book. Under her leadership, Kelley Blue Book Market Intelligence has become the gold standard for consumer insights within the automotive industry providing relevant, timely and innovative web analytics, data intelligence and market research insights to industry partners.
Susan Scarola is currently President of the National Foundation for Teen Safe Driving. Founded in 2011 as the DCH Teen Safe Driving Foundation, NFTSD collaborates with businesses and local high schools to deliver an array of nationally recognized teen safe driving programs building safety minded cultures within those communities. To further support this work Scarola is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD). Scarola served as President and CEO of DCH Auto Group 2007 to 2010 and was instrumental in launching the group’s teen safe driving initiatives. In her capacity as Vice Chairman from 2010 to 2014, Scarola assisted the Chairman with the strategic direction of the company and spearheaded the sale of DCH to Lithia Motors, Inc. Throughout she championed the company’s teen safe driving program as a core pillar of the DCH brand and she was instrumental in launching NADA’s Dealers Driving Road Safety Initiative now in its sixth year. In 2010 she was selected by Automotive News as one of the top 100 women in the North American auto industry.
During the event, Women in Automotive is joining forces with the Orlando Chapter of Dress for Success and will be making a contribution to support the charity’s important cause. Dress for Success provides professional attire and counseling for women in need.
