AskPatty’s Expert Woman Amy Mattinat Honored as one of Vermont’s Professional Women of the Year
The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) has honored AskPatty’s Expert Woman Amy Mattinat as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year, a prestigious distinction that recognizes her for leadership in the automotive industry.
“I love cars and am proud to be part of the automotive industry. I am passionate about educating the public, especially women, about car care so they can make informed decisions about their cars and not get taken advantage of,” says Ms. Mattinat, President of Auto Craftsmen.
As the largest networking organization of professional women in the country, the National Association of Professional Women is a vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 300 local chapters. Each year, NAPW selects these "VIP Women of the Year" in recognition of the strides they have made in their respective industries, their outstanding leadership, their professional achievements, and for displaying the highest level of support of NAPW's commitment to networking and community involvement.
Awarded the Car Care Council Women's Board Top Female Shop Owner in 2012, Ms. Mattinat shares her expansive knowledge of the automotive world with larger audiences through her monthly car care newsletter and blog. She is the Author of "How to Buy A Great Used Car," and co-authored the book, "Whatever Happened to Outstanding Customer Service."
Twenty years ago, Ms. Mattinat began working as the bookkeeper at Auto Craftsmen, an independent auto repair sales and service center located in Montpelier, Vermont. Ms. Mattinat’s shop offers excellent customer service and she is proud to say she has the nicest waiting room in Vermont. Throughout the year, she holds free, informative car clinics for women and supports such charitable endeavors as Brakes for Breasts, the local food bank, and is Central Vermont's 'Toys for Tots' Coordinator.
In addition to being a long-time friend of AskPatty.com and serving on our automotive expert advisory panel, Ms. Mattinat also belongs to Rotary International and the Women Business Owner's Network.
In 2014, she was elected for a three-year term as President of the Car Care Council Women’s Board, which is comprised of auto care professionals dedicated to providing opportunities, education and career leadership to women in the auto care industry.
