AskPatty’s Expert Woman Amy Mattinat Honored as one of Vermont’s Professional Women of the Year

Amy_Mattinat-AutoCraftsmen-smilingThe National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) has honored AskPatty’s Expert Woman Amy Mattinat as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year, a prestigious distinction that recognizes her for leadership in the automotive industry. 

“I love cars and am proud to be part of the automotive industry. I am passionate about educating the public, especially women, about car care so they can make informed decisions about their cars and not get taken advantage of,” says Ms. Mattinat, President of Auto Craftsmen.

Amy_Mattinat-AutoCraftsmen-4728-exteriorAs the largest networking organization of professional women in the country, the National Association of Professional Women is a vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 300 local chapters. Each year, NAPW selects these "VIP Women of the Year" in recognition of the strides they have made in their respective industries, their outstanding leadership, their professional achievements, and for displaying the highest level of support of NAPW's commitment to networking and community involvement.

Amy_Mattinat-AutoCraftsmen-book_coverAwarded the Car Care Council Women's Board Top Female Shop Owner in 2012, Ms. Mattinat shares her expansive knowledge of the automotive world with larger audiences through her monthly car care newsletter and blog. She is the Author of "How to Buy A Great Used Car," and co-authored the book, "Whatever Happened to Outstanding Customer Service."


Amy_Mattinat-AutoCraftsmen-3660-shuttleTwenty years ago, Ms. Mattinat began working as the bookkeeper at Auto Craftsmen, an independent auto repair sales and service center located in Montpelier, Vermont. She took every class she could find on how to run a successful automotive center. In five years she became the manager, five years later she became a partner in the business, and five years after that she bought out her partner to run the business by herself.

Throughout the year, she holds free, informative car clinics for women and supports such charitable endeavors as Brakes for Breasts, the local food bank, and is Central Vermont's 'Toys for Tots' Coordinator.
