A four-piece alt-rock outfit based in Brooklyn, American Authors use their razor-sharp musicianship and natural mastery of songcraft as a jumping-off point for sonic exploration.
On their debut album Oh, What a Life, singer Zac Barnett, guitarist James Adam Shelley, bassist Dave Rublin, and drummer Matt Sanchez weave in everything from hip-hop grooves and Afro-Latin rhythms to dance- pop synths and Queen-inspired vocal harmonies—all while staying true to a rock-and-roll energy and melodic sensibility that’s highly refined.
"We wanted synchronicity between our album artwork and our design for the Civic. They are inspired by our home city of Brooklyn, NY, which had a huge influence on us. The artistic energy of the city is like nowhere else and we wanted to capture that feeling,” said American Authors vocalist, Zac Barnett.
American Authors’ design for a custom-painted 2014 Civic EX–L Coupe stays true to the feel from the band’s latest album artwork, adding an urban, nostalgic feeling, and incorporating their hit album name and sentiment, “Oh What A Life.” American Authors also designed and autographed a custom-painted 2014 Honda Grom™.
