According to PopSci.com, Honda will unveil its EV-N electric car Concept at the Tokyo motor show later this month. Honda's cute little box on wheels hints at the company's 1960's-era N360 microcar, and showcases such Honda tech as a solar panel roof, door-mounted personal mobility devices, and vehicle-to-vehicle technology that allows the EV-N to communicate with other vehicles on the road. Kewl.
Finding practical ways to reduce automotive emissions and lessen America's energy dependence isn't something that can wait for technological breakthroughs years down the road, says Audi of America President Johan de Nysschen. Instead, he claims, car companies and government policy makers should immediately embrace promising new technologies that can quickly add up to make a real difference. In his speech at Audi's 100th Anniversary celebration in Sonoma, California, de Nysschen said Audi represents the new era of "progressive luxury." Read his full speech at oneighturbo.com
With more and more people commuting greater distances between their homes and their jobs, or driving gas-guzzlers to run local errands, vehicle pollutants are being increasingly emitted into our delicate environment. ECO Motor Company has developed the EMC3 Commuter to get at least 60 miles per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline. ECO Motor Company claims it can travel farther on less fuel than most cars and SUVs on the market today -- even hybrids or electric cars - because the tiny three-wheel car is powered by a compact engine that achieves two to five times more miles per gallon than most vehicles on the road.

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. donations will be made to Susan G. Koman, American Cancer Society or Stand Up 2 Cancer.
Lucas Tires & Auto Care of Chicago, Illinois, is partnering with Susan G. Komen for the Cure! We all know someone who has been affected by this disease and Lucas Tires & Auto Care wants to do their part in helping to support this important cause. For the remainder of October, Lucas Tire and Auto Care will donate 10% of every sales ticket including tires, oil changes, and auto repair service (excluding tax) in your name to the Susan G. Komen Center for The Cure.
Congratulations to John's Place - Personalized Auto Care (previously Duxler Tire and Service) of Glenview, Illinois, has recently become Certified Female Friendly, and to celebrate is celebrating with special events throughout the month of October, including Bingo (10/15), food tasting (10/20), visits from a fitness expert (10/24), manicures (10/29), a car care seminar (10/29) and a pumpkin carving contest (10/30)! Also, to help the fight against breast cancer, John's Place will be donating 5% of their sales from Friday, October 23rd to the National Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation. They've got an awesome blog, too!
AutoHaus Import Services of Raleigh, North Carolina, held a Confident Car Care Clinic this week, and on October 16th, will participate in and be a sponsor of the Boomer Diva Nation's Women in Business Summit at the Raleigh Marriott. Representatives from AutoHaus Imports will give a short presentation at 10am called "Car Talk 101" to help educate attendees about communication and car repair.
Curry's Auto Service of Gainesville, Virginia, has a ton of stuff happening right now! On Saturday October 17, Curry's is holding a block party and car show with kids activities including pumpkin painting and moon bounce, free vehicle checks and shop tours, a car wash to support local Boy Scouts, and free food and beverages! Attendees can also win awesome raffle prizes like an iPod, gift certificates, gift baskets, and the grand prize is a set of tires!
Curry's also recently held a special a hands-on DriveLab clinic instructed by Miriam Schottland to help attendees drive with more skill and confidence. Curry's will be presenting another DriveLab Car Control Clinic called "Cone Killers," at Summit Point raceway on November 14th, and are also promoting Sir Isaac Newton's Totally Awesome Driving School for teen drivers on November 8th. These are great programs, so be sure to check them out!
