2008 Geneva Motor Show Sneak Preview: Maserati presents the GranTurismo S

Maserati_granturismo_s_front According to Maserati, its beautiful Quattroporte now commands more than a third of the $100K-plus sedan segment. If  you’re not into the Maserati sedan, how would you like to have one of these gorgeous coupes in your garage?

A year after it unveiled the GranTurismo, the Italian manufacturer will return to the Geneva International Motorshow with another world premiere: the GranTurismo S, which Maserati promises will be the ultimate expression of the Trident coupé’s sportiness as well as its new emphasis on performance and driving enjoyment.

Two main aspects of the car represent the technological DNA of all Maseratis: the 440-hp V8 4.7-liter engine and the electro-actuated gearbox with fast MC-Shift arranged in the transaxle layout typical of high-performance sports cars.

Maserati_granturismo_s_rear The GranTurismo S makes use of a high-performance Brembo brake system featuring front brake discs made from cast iron and aluminum, paired with aluminum mono-bloc 6-piston brake calipers.

The exterior the Maserati GranTurismo S is characterised by a number of aesthetic modifications that, although discrete, are highly effective and make the car body appear sportier without abandoning the sleekness of the lines masterfully designed by Pininfarina.

The luxurious interior is upholstered in Poltrona Frau leather and Alcantara; the figure-hugging front and rear seats are distinguished by a new dynamic design with horizontal piping on the seats and seatbacks.
