How To Be Smart About Purchasing Auto Parts

Uncertain Ever have questions about buying auto parts? Where do you go? What do you look for? How do you start? 1AAuto.com is here to answer for you.

1.  Find a reputable online dealer
    - Find sites with unique content, including a telephone number, and avoid “serial sites.” A serial site is one that “spams” content, repeating information and linking excessively on every page. If the website is confusing to navigate, chances are it’s a serial site
    - Sites with Ebay stores allow you to check the ratings of the site and its products. This is beneficial as you can find direct comments from past customers to get the real scoop on the website.
    - Find sites that clearly display contact information. The more willing a site is to have you contact their service reps, the more confident they are in their ability to serve the customer.
    - Find a site that has seniority amongst the competition. There’s probably a reason why it has been around for so long, figure out what it is and use it to your benefit.

Cash2.   Price isn’t everything

- You get what you pay for. Obviously prices are important, but consider what goes into it. Higher prices can mean several things. If the same part is manufactured by two different companies, then typically the more expensive is of a higher quality. Usually the materials are more durable and the unit has been crafted more precisely to fit the specific automobile. An aftermarket part should always be as good as, if not better than the original.

- If two identical parts have different prices, then typically the more expensive part has additional services attached. You may pay a little more to get expert customer service, reduced shipping fees, additional warrantees, or less stringent return policies. A few extra dollars can be worth the extra peace of mind. Some websites have pages displaying their customer service advantages; take the time to check them out.

3.   Shop around

Especially for the more expensive items. Use the information above to find a site with the auto part you need, then find a second or third if possible. The more options you have, the better. This will allow you to make a decision between the price of the part or the benefits that come with buying from a particular website. Some sites even match prices, meaning you could get a better part or service at the cost of a cheaper competitor.

4.   Stick with a winner
You’ve done the work to find a quality website, so stay with them. Chances are that if they offer one high quality part or service, then it will apply to the rest of their inventory. Also, in case there is a problem, sellers are more likely to give repeat customers a break than first time shoppers. Giving a retailer your business for the long-term nearly guarantees you special treatment when you need some help.

Finding a quality site to purchase auto parts isn’t hard; it just takes diligence and patience. Once you’ve done the work to find a reputable site with great products, stay with it. After that, you won’t have to worry about where to purchase your new parts again. Good luck.
