GM Extends Warranty Based On Customer Requests
by Ask Patty Staff
We always love to see car and truck manufacturers listening to their customers. GM has done just that on their FastLane Blog. According to Bob Lutz, GM Vice Chairman, General Motors is announcing that it is expanding their powertrain warranty in the U.S. and Canada to five years and 100,000 miles, beginning with the 2007 model year.
What's particularly great about this initiative is the warranty is completely transferable and has no deductible. The roadside assistance and courtesy transportation programs have also been extended. All eight divisions of General Motors will offer this new warranty.
As well as this new warranty program, GM offers OnStar, StabiliTrak and GM Goodwrench-certified technicians at every dealership. The part that impresses us is that the decision at GM was made because of customer feedback on the FastLane Blog. What a great way to give back to their loyal customers and give them a voice! Go General Motors!
